Be merry with a touch of pink Christmas Card | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone, Kerrie here
with a super quick Christmas Card.
This year my Christmas theme is Charcoal Grey, Dusty Pink, White with a touch of Gold and so I have been playing around with some Christmas Card ideas and the
Couture Creations Be Merry & Classic Collection is so perfect for my theme.

Here is one of the cards I created using the following products from
Couture Creations Be Merry & Classic Collection
Patterned Paper, Decorative Dies, Stencil, Glitter,  Couture Creations Anna Griffin Texture Paste and one of the new Ultimate Crafts Ooh La La Doily Dies

Firstly I cut my dies from a dusty pink and charcoal grey glitter cardstock
I think cut my Ivory base card to 14.5cm x 29cm and folded in half to create square card

I them applied Couture Creations Anna Griffin Gloss Texture Paste to the right hand side of my card front using Holly Flourishes Stencil

Sprinkle on Crystal Glitter from Be Merry Collection and tip off excess and set aside to dry.
I love adding sparkling texture to my cards and layouts, using Crystal glitter gives sparkle without being overpowering.

I then cut a piece of Be Merry Patterned paper to 14cm square and then tore it in half and flipped one side over so as to use both side of the piece

Next cut some stars from the two smaller dies in the Swirling Layered Stars Set again using Dusty pink and Charcoal Glitter cardstock

I then layered it all using foam tape on the inner circle and the stars to add some dimension to my card
I have used the Turbo Glue Pen to adhere my diecuts to my card as it is perfect for adding a touch of glue and dries clear, strong and quickly

I hope you try adding some texture and dimension to your card this Christmas.

Live, Laugh, Love Double Layout for Ultimate Crafts | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #ultimatecrafts #couturecreationsaus

Hi Everyone, Kerrie here
I love to create embossed backgrounds on my layouts using versamark inkpad and gold embossing powder, especially for my travel layouts as it gives them a rustic well traveled look.
As you all know I love a distress look and I also love to have things not perfect this way you have the freedom to just create and not stress about lining things up.
This selection of photos are from a trip to Tasmania my girls and I took last July, we had the best time just the three of us touring the top end of Tassi.
On this day it was freezing and the wind was fierce,  I actually had two coats on and I was still cold!!! The walk down to the bottom of the falls was windy and so very cold, but we past all these people coming back up in tshirts and I couldn't work out how they could stand the cold, that is until we walked back up!!! It was such a steep walk that we too were stripping off our coats and worked up quite the sweat walking back up.
The walk down and back were so worth it though as Liffey Falls are beautiful.

Instructions

1.       Using Versamark Ink pad ink up Ooh La La Zephyr Embossing Folder, stamp background using embossing folder on both pieces of Cinnamon Cardstock
2.       Sprinkle with Mirror Gold Embossing Powder, tap off excess powder and heat until all embossing powder is molten and set. This does not have to be perfect as we want a rustic, vintage look. Clean Embossing Folder using warm sopay water or a baby wipe straight away after stamping.
3.       Cut from Obsidian (Black) Cardstock 1 x 9cm x 25.5cm, 1 x 9cm x 27cm, 1 x 3cm x 28.5cm, 1 x 3cm x 27cm, 1 x 2.5cm x 18cm, 1 x 2.5cm 26.5cm pieces
4.       Cut from Golden Baroque pattern paper 1 x 6cm x 27cm, 1 x 6cm x 15.5cm strips
5.       Cut from Chocolate Swirls pattern paper 1 x 15cm x 15cm piece
6.       Cut a 4.5cm piece from Border strip from Ephemera pack, giving two pieces to use.
7.       Emboss both 2.5cm wide strips using Zephyr embossing folder
8.       Create pennants from the 2.5cm x 18cm embossed strip and the 3cm x 28.5cm strip
9.       Distress the edges of all paper and cardstock pieces
10.   Ink all the distressed edges of all pieces of paper and cardstock and also ink the edges of all diecuts, using sponge dauber and brown ink pad.
11.   Layer all pieces onto the embossed base, making sure to match up both sides in the center
12.   Add lace trim to page before main photo on first page
13.   Before layering main photo mat onto base wrap twine around photo mat
14.   Add photos

15.   Finish off with die cut embellishments and a sprinkling of Pearls

here is a closer look at the embossed background

3mm pearls create soft accents

Clean and Simple Layouts featuring Cocoa Vanilla

#kerriegurney #cocoavanilla

Hi everyone
I am back to share some quick layouts I created a few weeks ago while I was away for a weekend of creating with my papercrafting friends
I have used the gorgeous
Cocoa Vanilla
Love Always and Make a Wish
Collections

I just love the freshness of these collections and hey they are designed right here in Australia by the very talented Zoe Pearn so you have to support our local Aussie Brands

my baby girl

the birthday boy hanging out for his birthday cake

and the beautiful and so talented Cariena Basson who I was so blessed to spend 3 weeks road tripping and teaching alongside in South Africa
If you ever get over to South Africa you must visit Cariena's most fabulous store
Scrapbook Studio in Jeffreys Bay
We are actually in another gorgeous South African store in this photo
Scrap Away owned by the lovely Samantha in Bloemfontein

you will notice I haven't even distress my layers as I wanted to keep the clean lines.
Although is the last layout I decided to add some texture after i had completed the page and so added some Couture Creations Anna Griffin Embossing Paste and Glitter, so then using my fingernail distressed the layers slightly :)

Double Page Layouts featuring Celebr8

#kerriegurney #celebr8

For this layout I have used Celebr8's Snap It Collection and some of their Matt Board.
Dennis and Erin the owner of Celebr8 and are the most fabulous couple who took me to the Lion Park. What an amazing day we had and I will never forget either of them or this day.
It is certainly a day I will cherish forever

Can you believe we went walking with lions!!!! amazing
This is Dennis and Erin from Celebr8, for those of you living outside of South Africa now you have a face to put with the brand

I have used Couture Creations Anna Griffin Embossing Paste mixed with Brown Pigment along with Celebr8's  Halftone Stencil to add texture to the page, but firstly I used my sponge dauber and inked through the stencil to give some layers to my page. I added a sprinkling of tiny Prima Art Stones
I inked my matt board pieces and then applied some  uncoloured embossing paste to my matt board words and paw prints and then coloured with brown die ink to give colour variation and texture to the matt board.

The bigger boy is Ben and he was just gorgeous and a little naughty, the little fella I didn't even ask his name as i was just so excited to be able to rub his belly even though he scratched and took a nibble on me how could you not love spending time with him.

The Protea Garden | Spier Wine Farm

These photos were taken back in 2012 when I visited South Africa with my Mum for the
SA Scrapbook Convention held by Glenda Viljoen
The Gardens at Spier were so beautiful especially the Protea Garden, my Mum loves Proteas so she was very excited to see some many in bloom
Celebr8's Picture Perfect Collection as you can see is perfect for these photos

I have randomly stamped the background using the script stamp, to do this i pulled the stamp off it's block and stamped using just the stamp pinched in my fingers so as to just stamp a random section of the image.
For the  matt board title I once again added some texture using Couture Creations Anna Griffin Embossing Paste this time mixing it with some spray mist.
I coloured the matt board embellishments using Gold Spray that I mixed myself using Couture Creations Anna Griffin Pigments with water in a misting bottle

Sadly at this stage Celebr8 is not available in Australia but you can purchase all Celebr8 products from Scrapbook Studio or ask your local papercraft store to get Celebr8 in I know Dennis and Erin would love to have stores outside of South Africa stocking their gorgeous collections

I have loads more Celebr8 goodies to play with so look out for more layouts from me using Celebr8 products
