Sweet 16 Birthday Card | Couture Creations

#kerriegurney #couturecreationsaus #birthday

Hello to you all
yesterday was my baby girls' 16th birthday
I cannot believe she is now old enough to get her learners permit and only has two more years of school and then that is it for me no more school age children ...I cannot believe how quickly these last 16 years have gone by.
For those of you with young children please cherish every moment because in the blink of an eye they will be all grown up.
If you visit my blog you can see some photos from her party that she had earlier in the month, they are not fabulous photos as everyone started arriving early so I quickly took them with my phone

Anyway enough of that here is the card I created for her using one of my favourite Couture Creations Perfectly Petite Doily Dies..young and fresh white on white with a touch of tiffany blue and gold but oh so simple and quick to create

Die cut 9 x Victoria Perfectly Petite Doily Die from white cardstock

cut them all straight across the middle

Cut a piece of white cardstock to 13cm x 30cm fold in half and then cut 2cm off the front

Start layering up your half doilies using 6mm Double Sided Tape to adhere them to the base card. I stuck both sides first then popped the middle doily on.
Once all the doily layers are on run another strip of double sided tape and  hand pleat a piece of ribbon on

Create some interest to the top of your card by scoring some lines using the Handheld Essentials stylist and the Couture Creations trimmer as a guide.
TIP: Make sure you work from the back of the card so the line are embossed on the front not debossed

to give the flower some shimmer I painted it with the Cottonball Pearl Drops this gives a nice shimmer to the flower

Pop a bit of  frayed mulsin, gold cord and metallic gold chipboard numbers and you are done ...too easy

lots of lovely doily layers

see the score lines at the top of the card

Merry Christmas

#kerriegurney  #christmas

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas
I hope you all get to spend time with those you love and cherish

I especially want to thank all of you who have taken a class with me this year I have loved spending time with you all it has certainly been an extraordinary year for me as Guest Artist for the Craft & Quilt Fairs across Australia and New Zealand and as Design Team Coordinator for Couture Creations

I am so thankful to Judy, Gary & Expertise Events for choosing me as the papercraft guest artist. I truly loved every minute of sharing my love for papercrafting with so many new crafters and also catching up with those I have known for years.
Thank you too to all the amazing ladies on the Couture Creations Design Team for a fabulously inspiring year and to all the staff in the Couture Creations warehouse/office for another great year

I look forward to a very creative year in 2016 with lots of exciting classes and events on my calendar already

Finally a HUGE Thank you to my beautiful family and friends who 100% support me in even though most of them have no idea what I do or just don't get what I do, ( they wonder how playing with paper gets me travelling all over the country and internationally :) )
I am so very blessed to have you all in my life

I am taking a small break from my blog and social media to reconnect with my family and friends over the Christmas season.
I look forward to inspiring you and being inspired in 2016

Happy Christmas to you all
much love

Sweet 16th Birthday Celebration

#kerriegurney

I have had an extremely busy December with my son turning 21
on the 4th December, Taylor Swift concert on the 5th, Hugh Jackman show on the 6th, family Christmas parties and my baby girl will turn 16 on the 29th of December.

She has not had a birthday party since she was 10 as it is an awful time of the year with everyone going away after Christmas so as this was a milestone birthday we decided to have her party early

I didn't get as many photos as I would have like as her friends turned up early (who does that ? :) )
anyway here are some snaps of the party set up some before but some during so a bit messy

My baby is very into soft and feminine with a touch of vintage

I would like to thank Bespoke Photbooths they all really enjoyed the photobooth. I highly recommend them for your next event ...very professional and so much fun

Craft & Quilt Fair Recap | Adelaide

#kerriegurney #craftandquiltfair

Oh my goodness I have just realised I didn't share with you all my adventures in Adelaide for the last Craft & Quilt Fair of the year...

What an awesome end to the year as Guest Papercraft Artist for Expertise Events Craft & Quilt Fair

Adelaide is such a pretty city filled with such lovely people.

starting with the beautiful Adriana Bolzon who met me when I got off the plane and then whisked me down to Grange Beach for a lovely lunch followed by a walk along the jetty before dropping me off at the Showgrounds to set up for the last time

My trip to Adelaide was very social having dinner each night my  "show" friends and with those I have met through my time with Couture Creations and through teaching over the last 20 years in the industry.

I didn't take many photos as I was busy enjoying the company of friends but here are some of the highlights

Miss Chrissy and Erika getting their groove on with the morning dance

my beautiful flowers from the lovely Amanda Baldwin (I totally forgot to get a photo of me with Amanda)

I also had a visit from the fabulous Natalie May

My Make & Takes for Adelaide

I just love these two ..they have made my year on the road so much fun ...we are forever friends the awesomely talented Svenja and the very awesome Miss Chrissy who has the most amazing passion for all things vintage and loves to share her love and passion
If you have the opportunity to take a class or watch a demonstration by either of these two ladies make sure you do you will come away so inspired

So happy to catch up with all of these super talented and super lovely ladies
