Willow | Couture Creations/Core'dinations Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 6 our final day of the Couture Creations & Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock Blog Hop! and my turn to share my project.
We’re so excited to team up with Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock to share some inspiring projects with you this week, marrying our products together, what could be more perfect our Embossing Folders and Dies and Core'dinations ColorCore Cardstock.

I am so happy to be sharing my blog hop project, I love love love Core'dinations cardstock so this blog hop is perfect for me, I have such a stash of Core'dinations cardstock as it works so well with our Couture Creations embossing folders. Anyway enough from me onto my project. I created an off the page layout  for my Mum as she recently celebrated not only her 70th birthday but the birth of her second Great Granddaughter. Mum got to meet her new little princess at her birthday celebration lunch. Willow is just 10 days in this photo so new and so perfect.
I used an embroidery hoop as my Mum is a Quilter and sewer so it is perfect for her to hang on her wall.

start by marking around the embroidery hoop and cut out the circle

lay Core'dinations Colour Core cardstock on top of embossing folder and sand to bring the embossed patterned out with the core colour showing through. This technique gives you a soft look to your projects.

clean off dust with  Dust Buddy and pop into embroidery hoop, you may need to cut some small nicks into the side to help in go onto the hoop. I also painted my hoop white, but you can leave it plain.

Die cut Tattered Lace Doily Die with Yellow Whitewash cardstock cut in half

and sand, clean off with Dust Buddy

Die cut two Sophia Connexion dies using Green Whitewash cardstock

Die cut 6 Rose shapes using the Rose Nesting Dies cutting 2 ea of the two bigger dies and 1 ea of the next two sizes.

Sand the edges of all pieces and layer together, poke a hole through the middle and pop in some stamens.

spray with water all layers srunching them into the center as you spray

giving you a scrunched ball slowing unscrunch giving you flower shape

cut a strip of patterned paper 1" x 12" and make into a banner pennant, apply double sided tape to the ends and foam mounting tape the to the centre of the banner.

layer everything onto your hoop, I used a hot glue gun for the flower to make sure it stayed on. Create a tag for hidden journalling

add some Crystal Glitzin' Glamour glitter glue to flower

Meeting Harrison Craig Winner of The Voice Australia 2013

We just loved Harrison not only his voice but his love and affection for his Mum and little brother Conner.
Right  from the blind auditions I said he would win and I was over the moon when he did.

Here is Harrison with his coach Seal.

I took Taylah and her friend Georgie to meet Harrison Craig, he only sand two songs but he sang them beautifully and then we got to meet him and have our photo taken with him.
He is such a lovely young man, with everyone he met he was warm and genuine.

here are just some photos I took today

WHAT!!!! over 50 000 page views

Who would have thought ....

I want to Thank everyone who visits my blog who would have imagined when I started my humble blog that I would have over 50 000 page views.

I am overwhelmed  and I thank everyone who has ever popped into my little part of the www

I have had two stand out posts the first having over 5000 views and shared by people many times, is my post showing the Halloween Birthday Invitations I did for my daughter Ashleigh's 16th birthday party in 2009. My very good friend Anna handmade the fingers for me and I got the idea for the invitations from every crafters friend Martha Stewart

you can view the full post HERE and photos from the party HERE

the second post with over 1200 views and shared on many Narnia fan sites is my post with photos from the set of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader which was filmed just 10 mins up the road from my house back in 2009. It was a very exciting time for everyone in the Redlands and especially for me who visited the set every week day at least once, often more and sometimes dragging my children kicking and screaming after school. That is until the day we met Ben Barnes we were all star struck by Ben such a lovely young man, who chatted with everyone there including Taylah and I and also giving a starstruck Taylah his autograph.

you can view that post HERE
and if you like I have many Narnia DT posts you just need to click on Narnia in the labels and that will take you to all the Narnia posts.

so once again
I thank you all

Couture Creations Key Decorative Dies Card

Hi I created this step by step tutorial  for Crop Stop

Today I am using the fun key decorative dies from the Couture Creations Endless Dreams Collection.

You can use keys on so many projects,  I thought I would do a quick card that can be used for any occasion.

Cut base card 12" x 5" and fold in half, cut a piece of patterned paper 5 3/8" x 4 3/8"

Die cut a heart using Core'dinations Cellar Door Whitewash Cardstock and Couture Creations Heart Nesting Dies and emboss the heart using Couture Creations Extra Loren Embossing Folder

Gently sand the heart revealing the blue core colour

Die cut one of each of the key dies in grey cardstock, 1 x 7" x 1.5" patterned paper, 1 x 4.5" x 1 3/8" grey cardstock, 1 x 5 1/4" whitewash cardstock

distress all the edges using your scissors or distressing tool

die cut another 1 of the key to my heart dies, you will just use the heart shape from the center of both dies

layer all the pieces onto the base card using foam tape on the grey strip to add some dimension to the card
Tie the keys together using silver cord.

use foam tape behind your heart accents, finish off by adding some Couture Creations Crystal Gemstones
